For more than a year, Matt Gardner has protected and supported Debbie Watkins in her position representing Mission Beach on the ANAC, in spite of overwhelming evidence that Ms. Watkins actions on the ANAC have been only self serving to the detriment of many residents living in South Mission Beach.
The FAA NexGen implemented in 2018 dramatically increased noise in South Mission Beach, reducing it over Isthmus Court where Ms. Watkins lives. Alternatives were brought forward by myself in SMB that would decrease the noise over SMB and not increase noise over Ms. Watkins, but she was having nothing of it, as it was contrary to her quid pro quo agreement with Sjohnna Knack, the Airport Authority Noise Abatement Office Manager.
Ms. Knack needed to eliminate the nighttime noise abatement agreement 290 post 10 pm departures and integrate them into PADRZ, which departs directly over SMB. This would further increase the noise over SMB. So, Debbie took the position that she would not support any changes to tracks that would increase noise over another community, and so she opposed everything that might help South Mission Beach. Her tonto, Gernot Trolf, and I apologize to all American Indians, did her every bidding on his committee. And Knack reciprocated by ensuring that Debbie stayed on the committee, now going on 12 years, in a position with a 2 year term.
This all seems fairly clear, but I am still waiting to hear on the last piece of the puzzle. Did Debbie Watkins, acting in her position as Chair of the Mission Beach Precise Planning Board, offer her support to Matt by endorsing the proposed short term regulations recently published by Councilmember Jen Campbell? Apparently some person or persons know the answer to this question and so hopefully we will soon get confirmation.
If this last step is confirmed, then the multi-layered quid pro quo circle of corruption is complete.
