HOTELS SHOULD BE FILLED FIRST BEFORE ANY VACATION RENTALS ARE ALLOWED TO OPERATE IN MB!

Updated: May 31

Occupancies in hotels, one of the primary sources of tax revenues fore the City are projected to continue to have very low occupancy rates at least through June. One-hundred percent of the visitors who stay in hotels pay their TOT. This compares with about forty percent in vacation rentals.

This may sound harsh, but the residents of Mission Beach would freak out if they knew that the City was releasing a known sexual predator to live in Mission Beach, and yet, there are potentially hundreds or even thousands of visitors coming to Mission Beach who may be infected with the coronavirus and be asymptomatic. These visitors could be spreading death here. Should we not be at least as concerned about these visitors as we would be about a predator?

Please send a message to Dr. Wooten County Public Official, Nathan Fletcher, County Supervisor, our mayor and our City Councilmember, Jen Campbell. Tell them to only allow essential personnel to stay in short term rentals; NO VACATIONERS!
