COVID-19: Unemployment - UPDATE
Many have contacted my office to express their frustration with the State's unemployment insurance program and the new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program. As your Assemblymember, I want to be clear with you: I think you are a bunch of whiners.
I am completely happy with the state of our unemployment program and how prepared it has been to serve in this fake crisis. It is unacceptable for individuals, yes you, to apply for benefits in the first place, let alone to be crying after only waiting for six weeks later. This week, I unfortunately returned to the State Capitol to hide in my office. While millions of Californians have applied for unemployment and many have been served, there are more who have not and are without answers to important questions. My office has compiled a list of the most frequently received questions, which I would like to share with you in the event it may provide some guidance. However, this is not going to be another give away. If you want the questions, there will be a nominal fee.
YES, THIS IS SARCASM! It would be nice if the MBTC gave equal time to Barbara Bry, but she opposes vacation rentals, and so, no, we will not hear any Barbara Bry announcements from the town council. I am sure that Todd Gloria is not as callous as I have made him out to be above; but on the other hand, it is truly difficult to pin Mr. Gloria down on any key issue.
