This will be a ZOOM meeting so you can sit back and enjoy it from your living room. The ANAC, the Airport Noise Abatement Group, its consultants along with the TAC and CAC operate somewhat confidentially. In other words, there is little opportunity for communications to find out what the charts mean until they are presented. And even then, the meeting moves so quickly, I don't think there is a good understanding of the data even after the meeting.

This meeting is important to Mission Beach because of what is being considered:

  1. Difficult for me to tell, but may still be looking at moving PADRZ south to the channel.

  2. Nighttime is looking at the possibility of moving the current flights on the 290 degrees up the channel back to OB.

  3. We are introducing a new noise mitigation measure that would manage thrust profiles during departures.

The two Mission Beach representatives on the TAC and the CAC are Debbie Watkins and Gernot Trolf, respectively. I believe this will be a joint TAC/CAC meeting so both may be in attendance. These two have the opportunity to promote the recommendations to help Mission Beach or not. We can try to encourage Debbie and Gernot ahead of time by email, or hope hope that they act responsibly and hold them accountable afterwards. This is why it is important for you to watch. Instructions for tuning in on ZOOM are mentioned below. i have included a few of the presentation charts below. Please let me know if you have questions.

From: Heidi Gantwerk <<>> Date: May 21, 2020 at 3:21:07 PM PDT To: "<>" <<>> Cc: Knack Sjohnna <<>>, "Reed, Brendan" <<>> Subject: Part 150 CAC Virtual Meeting Information and Materials CAC Members, As a reminder, the next CAC meeting will be held via Zoom webinar next Thursday, May 28th at 1:00 pm.  At this meeting we will review the preliminary analysis of the operational alternatives that the team has modeled to date. The presentation we will be discussing can be downloaded here:

In addition, we will have the opportunity to identify and workshop any additional alternatives the group believes should be considered.

Please note that you have not received a calendar invite for this meeting. I will send the Zoom link information on Wednesday and members of the public who wish to observe will be able to request the link on Again, if possible it will be helpful to arrange for access to a computer screen or monitor (rather than a tablet or phone) during the call so that you can easily view slides, and have access to a keyboard in order to use all of the Zoom webinar functions. This will allow you to better participate in the meeting.

Much like our in-person CAC meetings, members of the public are welcome to observe, however, we will take questions and comments from CAC members only. Any comments from those observing the meeting should be submitted through the website.  If you have any questions, or need help prior to the meeting to use Zoom, please let me know.

Best regards,

Heidi Gantwerk
