Greg Knight and I took the candidate on a walking tour of Mission Beach around the area where Greg lives. Previously, my wife and I, and Bob Ottilie, and Mike Horung hosted a meeting and greet for Barbara at our place on Avalon Court.
Barbara was clearly taken aback at the messes created by short term renters as well as basic infrastructure that was missing. Perhaps not a big thing, but it was ridiculous that there were so many garbage cans left in the alley, in some cases blocking traffic.
Both Greg and I were impressed by her number of questions for us, but also for residents that we came across in their yards on this very nice sunny day. Virtually every resident had a negative story about the impact of the short term rentals on the neighborhoods. I think it is clear that Barbara has now spent more time in Mission Beach walking the courts that our never present Councilmember Cmpbell.
There are just 73 days until the election, and here’s what we know:
Nationwide, we’re witnessing the damage of divisive partisan politics: We Must Come Together
The outpouring of support for our message of independent leadership proves: We Can Unite
A recent poll shows: We Can Win
I didn’t run for Mayor to advance a political career. I already had a successful one in the private sector.
With 73 days until the election, it’s time to put an end to divisive partisan politics that prevent us from solving real problems.
Our city faces major challenges.. But we also have tremendous opportunities. We need to continue pulling together San Diegans who want real solutions.
Or, chip-in whatever amount you can to take on politics-as-usual.
Don’t stop now!
